Winnetka police warned about a possible attempted child abduction Monday, two days after a similar incident in Wilmette.

Police received a report at about 4:30 p.m. July 12 that an 11-year-old girl said a male subject in a vehicle attempted to grab her shirt from his car while she was playing near Prospect and Humboldt avenues, according to a Winnetka Police Department press release.

The child said the driver reached out of his window of a late-model Audi sedan with tinted windows. The two did not speak.

She reported the license plate as being light blue and red.

The girl described the driver as a white man between 25 and 35 years old, between 150 and 200 pounds, tan, skin and possibly blond hair and blue eyes. She said he had a large, thin nose and was wearing a loose-fitting T-shirt with a gray design.

Two days earlier, Wilmette police reported an 11-year-old girl was walking down an alley near Lake Avenue and Sheridan Road when a man driving an identical car approached her from the opposite direction, stopped next to her and told her to "get inside the car."
